Corona virus: Schools & daycare centres also close in BW, RLP & HE
Due to COVID-19, schools and daycare centres in Germany remain closed:
- From Monday, 16.03.2020, in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate
- From Tuesday, 17.03.2020, in Baden-Württemberg
The closures are valid until the end of the Easter holidays. This was decided last Friday afternoon by the relevant authorities. This step is intended to slow down the spread of the corona virus. This also affects vocational schools, where intermediate examinations should be held at the moment. These examinations have been postponed. There is not yet a fixed date.
But how are children to be looked after at home when both parents go to work? Children have the right to care while all schools and childcare facilities are closed. Therefore, one of the parents should be able to stay with the children. Many employers apply the so-called home office regulation. This means that you work from home.
