Funding from Federal States and the Government

The state governments of Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate and the Federal Government also support integration projects in various ways.

Federal Office for Migration and Refugees

At the federal level, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees is the first point of contact, also with regard to funding for integration projects. Funding is provided for integration projects, multiplier training, sports measures or low-threshold seminar measures for the integration of foreign women, as well as measures to promote return. The BAMF is also responsible for the accreditation of providers of integration courses.

In December 2015, the Federal Voluntary Service for Refugees was launched. Places of deployment can register with the Federal Office for Family Affairs and Civil Society Affairs (BAFzA). Refugees are to be supported in their integration into society. The programme is open to German volunteers as well as to those entitled to asylum and asylum seekers who can be expected to stay legally and permanently. The programme allows institutions to set up a position in the field of refugee assistance. The programme is limited until 31 December 2018.
