Streaming tips for June

Also for June we have some great streaming highlights in store for you, covering topics like integration, migration and much more. 
A good reason to stay awake longer during the warm summer nights.

And here we go with our 7 film tips:
 
The Stranger (Maxdome)

This family drama is about a Turkish family in Berlin that breaks with their traditions. The 25-year-old Umay wants to lead a new self-determined life with her son Cem in Berlin after her marriage broke up in Istanbul. Umay knows that this will be a great challenge for her family and hopes that their bond is stronger than the social constraints. Whether Umay will succeed in reconciling with her family and building a new life is something you will learn in "The Stranger".

Salami Aleikum (Maxdome Store, ITunes, Amazon Video)

The German-Iranian "Mohsen Taheri" is in his late 20s and still lives with his parents. Although he can't stand blood, he still works in the family butcher shop. His father thinks he is a failure and never gives him a chance to prove himself. One day Mohsen goes to an East German province after his father has given him a job. There he meets the woman of his dreams. But it all starts with lies, because she is a vegetarian and Mohsen pretends to be a textile merchant to please her. Does his white lie become his undoing or is this his salvation for a better future?

Neuland (Amazon)

In the documentary "Neuland", director Anna Thommen accompanies young immigrants who hope for a better future in Switzerland. They come from Macedonia, Pakistan, Iran and Albania. Blows of fate and also the poverty of their own families have brought the immigrants to Basel. The young immigrants are accompanied by their dedicated teachers through the two-year schooling period and tell of their hopes and their past.

Fack ju Göhte (Netflix)

Zeki Müller (Elyas M'Barek) has a big mouth, no respect and appears aggressive. After his prison sentence he gets a new job - as a substitute teacher. But Zeki is at school for a reason: His prize is under the gym. Can he use his charm to get the demanding school class through high school - and also win over trainee teacher Lisi Schnabelstedt? In the end he has to make a decision. Money or love?

If you like the comedy, you can keep watching, because the sequels Fack ju Göhte 2 and 3 are already out!

300 words German (Amazon Video, ITunes, Maxdome Store)

The comedy is about the fact that Turkish immigrants have to learn "300 words of German" in order to be granted entry. They get support from the student Lale, who is torn between her strict Muslim home and her modern life as a student. Things happen that one would not have foreseen.

Human Flow (Amazon Prime, Amazon Video, Maxdome Store, ITunes)

"Human Flow" is a documentary film from the year 2017 by Ai WeiWei. As artistically as his family was, his future became as colourful. He was a Chinese artist, sculptor and ambassador. His documentary examines the manifold causes of refugee movements around the globe. 

Rush Hour 2 (Netflix, Sky Ticket, Amazon Video)

This is a buddy action movie with Lee (Jackie Chan) and Carter (Chris Tucker). The duo is on vacation in Hong Kong, but get directly involved in a case again. Because right after their arrival a bomb explodes in the American embassy. Lee is even personally involved this time, as the bomber is a former partner of Lee's father. The bomber is now the leader of the most deadly gang in China. This is how Carter and Lee are trying to track down the members. The trail leads them to Las Vegas and what awaits them there astonishes even the duo.
