Where to sell and buy second-hand clothing

Buying used clothing is sustainable, protects the environment and is cheaper than buying new clothes. That's why we would like to show you some of the websites, platforms and apps with which you can buy and sell second-hand clothes.

1. Kleiderkreisel

Kleiderkreisel ("clothing spintop") is one of the most popular sites in Germany for buying or selling used clothing. You have to create an account there with your email address and can easily buy, sell or give away your own clothes. You can also see where the clothes come from. This way you might be able to shop regionally in your city and avoid shipping costs.

There is also an app for Kleiderkreisel that you can use on your smartphone.

2. Mamikreisel

Mamikreisel ("mommy spintop") works just like Kleiderkreisel. This platform is specially designed for children's clothes and toys, but also clothes for pregnancy.

3. Mädchenflohmarkt

Mädchenflohmarkt ("girls' flea market") is an online second-hand marketplace. The website looks similar to other online stores, but here you can find used goods.

At Mädchenflohmarkt you can offer your used clothes or buy clothes from other people yourself. You also have to create an account and then you can start immediately. On this website you can even search for certain brands or special designs and categories.

4. eBay Classified Ads

On eBay classifieds you can also sell your clothes. But this site is not specifically dedicated to clothing. Here you can find everything. Interesting is that you can also search in your region and see what the people in your area offer. That way you can avoid shipping costs.

5. Shpock – App

A very well known app to sell or buy used equipment is the app Shpock. You can download it from the App Store or Google Play on your smartphone.

Here you can also buy or sell clothes. But there are also many other things that are sold. Have a look at the categories. There is definitely something for you.

6. Secondhand Shops in your city

There are probably also second-hand stores in your region. You can go there and take your clothes with you. Then the sellers will offer you a price. Here you should take special care that the clothes are not dirty or broken. Second-hand stores only want to offer clothes that are still being bought.

7. Organize a flea market stand yourself

This year it might be difficult to participate in a flea market. Because of Corona many of these markets are cancelled.

Normally you can register for a flea market or flea market and prepare your own sales stand. There you pay a fee depending on how much space you need. Then people come to your stand and look at your stuff and see if they want to buy some of it. If you have to go to a flea market yourself, you can check here when and where it takes place.
