10 "excercises" to stay fit at home

Due to the Coruna virus our mobility is limited. The whole of Germany is affected, including our Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region. We should no longer go into the city, avoid crowds and stay at home as far as possible. But that does not mean that we can no longer do anything for our health and fitness. There are many other ways to keep fit. Even at home in your own four walls, this is possible. Here we have put together a few "exercises" for you.


1. Homeworkout: On Youtube and Instagram you can find some videos about homeworkout Beautifully designed to take part in parallel. You can do the exercises alone, as a couple or with the kids. Of course you can also do it outside, for example on the balcony or terrace. Here you get to the Full-Body Workout, which was created by us.


2. Cleaning: Since you now spend a lot of time at home, this is a good opportunity to freshen up the house a bit and to do some physical exercise. You can clean the windows, vacuum, clean the basement or iron. Perfect for involving the family too.


3. Garden maintenance: For those who still want to spend time in nature, this is also possible. For example, you can mow the lawn, freshen up the flowers or perhaps even plant your own vegetables. This also trains the body muscles.


4. Dancing: For the Dancing Queens, it's never boring at home. You are welcome to come up with your own choreographies. And who knows high school musical? If so, do you know all the dances from it? If not, then you have enough time to learn all of them. I'm sure it's a lot of fun for kids, too!


5. Running stairs: If you have stairs in your house, use them. You can replace the visit to the gym by running up and down the stairs quite often. Sometimes you take two steps at once, then you jump and maybe you roll down. Use your creativity! A tip: you can also use drink crates, dumbbells or other weights when running up and down stairs to define your muscles.


6. Yoga: If you want to take it easy in your everyday life, you can try yoga. Among other things, yoga serves to prevent health problems and has an effect on the psyche of the individual and society. So if we want to do something for your mind and soul, then yoga is the right thing.


7. To try something new: In the long run, maybe you could use some action. How about something new? Surely there is something you always wanted to try (at home) but never got around to. Now is the right time to let your creativity run free. Be it trying out new recipes, rearranging rooms, teaching new tricks to your pets, learning a new language or a new musical instrument!


8. Memory training: You can not only keep your body fit, but also the fitness of our memory. You can do puzzles for example. Other possibilities are Sudokus or word puzzles. You can find many on the internet. You can also pass the time with various board games. Great fun for young and old is predicted!


9. Nutrition: As we all know, nutrition plays an important role in our health. To keep the body fit, a balanced diet is important. Many people go on a diet or other "nutritional challenges". You too can join these people and do something good for your body. Set yourself goals. For example, you can say, "I'm going to go without sweets for four weeks. Or I eat vegetables five times a week." Ask your loved ones to join in. Because together, things are easier to master.


10. Communication: Communication is the key. Many people now think that it is no longer possible because we are supposed to stay at home. No, that is not the case. Phone with friends, acquaintances and family members. This way you will be able to maintain your social contacts in the future and besides, this keeps your communication fit! You can also write letters, because the mail will still be delivered. There are also services such as Skype or Facetime with which you can communicate via webcam.
